This morning, I decided to juice about 3/4 of an apple and 1/2 of a celery stalk. My goal is to allow the juice to assist in making the blended veggies/fruit more liquid. I added the 1/4 of an apple and the remaining celery stalk to the blender with a handful of blueberries, 3 strawberries, about 15 spinach leaves, an 1/8 of a tsp of ginger and 1/8 c. of almond milk. I blended it for about 30-45 seconds and consumed all of it.
After about an hour, I completed breakfast with two breakfast burritos that included: an egg, one slice of cheddar cheese, turkey sausage (2)...shared between the two tortilla shells. A delicious juice and burritos are wonderful ways to begin a morning.

Day 44: Back to Purple...again
Tonight's purple juice was created by juicing an apple and romaine lettuce, then blending the juice with 4 strawberries, about 5 blackberries, about 8 blueberries and 1/4 c. of almond milk. It was delicious; however, I realized that blackberry seeds can get really annoying when they get caught in your teeth.

Day 36: Purple Passion Juice
Tonight's juice consisted of one apple, three celery stalks...juiced, then blended with 10 spinach leaves, two strawberries and three blackberries. I drank 1/2 of the 16 oz. beverage and save the remainder for the a.m.
It was delicious and all of the ingredients were grown in the United States. I am determined to find local farmers for my fresh produce. However, it is going to take a little time and effort to find them.

Day 26: Oops: Forgot to Blog...
Entry for SATURDAY, January 15, 2010
Out of 25 days, this is the second time that I have forgotten to record my daily juice selection in my blog. (Excuse...I am working on a diversity paper that is due TODAY.) However, no excuse is really good enough.
Breakfast: Honey Bunches of Oats and Almond milk
Lunch@ Golden Corral: I ate a Caesar salad, broccoli without sauce, mashed potatoes with a small amount of chicken gravy, cauliflower/without sauce, Lima beans, two yeast rolls, sweet tea and water. Other than the chicken gravy, yesterday was a MEATLESS day.
My pre-dinner juice included: two celery stalks, two half-slices of cantaloupe and collard greens juiced and blended with three strawberries. Then, I ate a cucumber, onion and tomato half-sandwich. All in all, that meal has lasted until this morning without any signs of hunger pains.

Day 20: Home Sweet Home & Juice for Dinner
I spent yesterday afternoon between the grocery store, the airport and my Mom's house. I stayed the night with my Grandmom and Mom. My reward was a breakfast with an old-fashion, southern ho down of grits, cheese/eggs, biscuits and salmon croquettes...and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I attempted to repent with a late lunch that included lemon-pepper chicken wings and a romaine, spinach and tomato salad. I drank sweet tea.
Finally, for dinner, I had a simple juice that included grated ginger root, 1/4 of a cabbage, three strawberries, kale and an apple.
With the exception of breakfast, today was a good day. (My breakfast was GREAT!)

Day3: 12-23-10 & Measurements

Today's breakfast consisted of: freshly-squeezed apple blended with alfalfa sprouts, red grapes, blueberries, strawberries and an orange PLUS Eden Soy Original milk. (I took this photo before I decided to decrease the oranges and increase the apples.) The flavor was delightfully good. Even though I could smell the alfalfa sprouts, I could not taste it.
This amount of fruit and juice made about 2 1/2 cups of fruit juice, which is definitely too much for me. I only need about 8oz. of juice in the morning, so I placed the remaining 1/2 of this juice in the refrigerated in a Mason jar. I definitely need to make sure that I am not overloading my system with too much sugar. Diabetes is an issue in my family and I do NOT want it to become an issue with me.
*In addition to the juice, I ate a mini bagel and about 2 TBSP. of cream cheese.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On 12-21-10 my measurements were:
42" bust
37 1/2" waist (at navel)
39" pooch (directly below navel)
44 3/4" hips
29 1/2 left thigh
28 3/4" right thigh
Weight (from 12-22-10) = 187.8 lbs. ---> Next weigh-in = Friday, Dec. 24, 2010.
...next measurement will be on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LUNCH consisted of 2 small soft shell tacos (homemade), 1/2 c. ground chuck, lettuce, diced tomatoes, 1/4 c. cheddar cheese and medium salsa.
snack: 2 fig newton cookies
DINNER included three slices of Boar's head turkey on two-slices of wheat bread, mayonnaise and a small salad (romaine lettuce, cucumbers, onions, roma tomatoes and salad dressing (from Olive Garden).
Since I have been off work, I am not nearly as active; therefore, this little amount of food is ok. However, before I resume work, I will need to restart my exercise program AND increase my daily intake of food ....AND WATER!
